So I had a little panic today SO randomly about what I'm going to be wearing when I go into my teaching prac and when I eventually become a primary teacher. Apparently a tee and jeans aren't appropriate or professional enough. Pretty sure I'll be covered in paint anyway :P
FUN FACT: According to a survey done by a British clothing company, the average woman spends a total of 287 days in her lifetime deciding what to wear. That's 6,888 hours!
That's a lot of time with my wardrobe, and I'm not even a picky dresser! Clothing has just been a big part of my mindset lately lol. In thinking about what to wear each day, what to pack/buy for 10 days in Philippines/Boracay, what to buy in Phils (not just for me but also pasalubong), teaching prac, not wearing the same thing in front of the same people at uni, etc... haha hopefully i'm not alone on the last one!
Point is, it's unwanted stress and completely first world issues! These little dilemmas could be solved by thinking humbly, modestly, and realizing how I feel about myself shouldn't be determined by what I wear. Besides, it's not like I'm walking on a runway for a fashion show everytime I go out. This is how we should view the concept of 'beauty': "The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." 1 Sam 16:7. So if that's what God's looking at, man I gotta work on my heart more.
Then it made me think, what does God wear? Because He has all the time in the world (plus more!) to decide. Imagine the size of His wardrobe D: ANYWAY lol, in todays Psalm reading it said, "Bless the Lord, my soul! Lord, my God, you are great indeed! You are clothed with majesty and glory, robed in light as with a cloak." (104:1-2)
Yep... He wins.
So to end I realized, if God doesn't spend any time in deciding what to wear, He definitely knows what He's doing. He thinks ahead. And He has more time to spend on the things He really loves. Like spending time on us :) and that's beautiful.
