"LETSGOOOOOOOO"
That's what I want to tell myself. That's what I heard the 24yo female weightlifter, Kiana Elliot, say at the 2020 Olympics in Japan just as she snatched 90kg+ above her head. That's the energy I really need right now. All in one word (which is really two) with no punctuation necessary.
I am tired. Straight up. Does anyone know what day or time it is? Days are completely blurred together!
You know what one of my sayings are that triggers my friends? "Plenty of time!"
Friend 1: We have 5 minutes to get to the appointment
Me: Plenty of time!
Friend 2: We need to cook dinner for 10 people by 6pm
Me: Plenty of time! *It's 5pm*
Friend 3: You have an essay due in 48 hours
Me: Plenty of time! *Submits on due date at 11:58pm*

Okay, so I'm not the best with time. To me, one hour seems more like three. Which makes no sense. I believe I have all the time in the world when really, I don't. Time is not relative, it's literally numbered.
I wonder why I have this habit?! Is it because I have a different relationship with time? Is it because I think I'm young and can make up for time later? Is it because I forget the reality that life is quite short and so I need to make the most of it without worrying?
Someone once told me that even if they had more than 24 hours in the day, they still wouldn't be as productive.
Everyone has the same 24 hours in a day. Jesus also had 24 hours in a day. He even saved the world in less than 34 years. Woah. Most of that time was Jesus growing up, being raised by his parents and the people around Him, learning and maturing like all teenagers and young adults.
What if the difference was because Jesus knew how to be fully present in the time and place he was in. He learnt how to be fully present to his mum, a friend, a poor person. Fully present to his time praying in the garden. Time was not flying by him or worrying him. We all know the feeling of time standing still when we are in a really meaningful conversation with someone we deeply care about.
I want to be more like that. Fully present to the people and place around me.
I'm sighing because I know exactly what I need to TRY to achieve this.
1. Less social media time (life isn't that interesting atm to post anyway)
2. Less online shopping (laters, letsgoo savings)
3. More time in mindfulness, breathing, outdoors, contemplation (I really need the space)
Next thing we know, we'll all be out of this lockdown in no time ;)
Hoping with you,
Raimz
